The Commissioner’s Office offers free, introductory educational sessions about B.C.’s Human Rights Code, a human rights law aimed at protecting everyone in the province from inequality, discrimination and injustice. Our workshops focus on employment, housing, or services. By the end of the sessions you should be able to:

  • Situate B.C.’s Human Rights Code within other human rights law
  • Recognize terms used in the B.C. human rights system
  • Identify discrimination under B.C.’s Human Rights Code, and
  • Recognize what protected personal characteristics can be used to make human rights complaints
