Have you ever wondered what systemic discrimination is? Or what its impacts are? And what you can do about it?

Join one of our free 90-minute sessions to learn about how systems in our workplaces, organizations and communities can create barriers and harms for certain groups.

Learning objectives

Through stories and real-life examples, participants will learn how to identify systemic discrimination and take action in both the short and long-term. By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • identify some key elements of systemic discrimination
  • explain systemic and interpersonal discrimination
  • understand the impacts of systemic discrimination
  • identify who is impacted by systemic discrimination
  • identify where systemic discrimination happens
  • notice systemic discrimination in their daily lives
  • begin reflecting on actions they might take*

The follow-up session, Systemic discrimination: What we can do, focuses on actions we can take to address systemic discrimination.

These sessions are free and are offered to all members of the public several times throughout the year.

Participant engagement and group sessions

Due to the large number of participants attending webinars, the content of these sessions has been developed for a broad audience and participant engagement will be limited to polls, reflection and posting in the Q&A.

We welcome your requests for a customized and more interactive session for your organization or group. Please contact us through our Event Request page.

To support our limited capacity and for optimal planning, we prefer six months’ notice. Our team will follow up on all requests to discuss your needs.
